Status: Removed (Building Demolished, 2020)
John Clinch’s painted steel piece was installed on the side of Redcar’s old Regent Cinema in 1997, and featured stars of the silver screen such as Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chapman. It was commissioned to celebrate the centenary of the British film industry. Other silhouettes of Laurel and Hardy and Fred Astaire could be found along the beachfront.

In November 2020, the piece was removed to be put in storage before the building’s demolition. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like the removal work was done with much care. I’m not sure about its current condition. I would guess bent.
